The bird feeder is now a hub of activity. Black-capped Chickadees (and usually at least one Mountain Chickadee) along with the Red-Breasted Nuthatch, who is kind of an “up side down” little creature are here, hungry and safe.
Amazing mimics, the Steller’s Jays, should be showing up again any day. They seem to run the schedule especially if the dog food dish is empty. I have seen them fit in 7 pieces at a time and a different tune when I catch them in my back porch! There is nothing like a “handy dandy all purpose bug net” or trip in a transport truck with Aurora Borealis, namesake and the Canadian Rocky Mountains. But it is the education and compassion that counts”. Every body is at the feeder today.

Moving on through December reminds me how the time has passed so quickly and still no grey. The Red-Osier Dogwood and Alder stand straight. The Beavers have taken another birch tree at the gates. We have recognized many a chewed tree on the top of their lodges!
And there has been no time for star gazing. Jupiter and 4 moons have been seen before. Focus is near and soon. Their amazing orbit distracts me again, it is the focus I need now and soon, and the sound and feel of the drums. Alaska, I hear. I will listen. I must see. Yes, and forever.
Would it be too bold to add my resume here somewhere? Old school, coal in the basement and a fort on top of the chicken coop, what could be better Randy. Except for climbing 100 foot trees and riding my bicycle through the cow pastures, with shin scars to show. There is a combine in the field and a will in my heart. And an old cook-stove, then we churned butter all day long. Where did the Black Berry come from and what exactly is it?
Too much too soon, one day they said man will go to the moon. And the seven wonders of the world appeared. One day I will go and see them, along with the TVs Craig Ferguson show as long as it does not interfere with my Star Trek Voyager viewing, matriarchal, simple pleasure in life, as the sheltered and shaded Calypso bulbosa, back to Lochinvar now. I have a few questions, do you?
Where is the librarian, custodia or orator. Ancient Rome a must. Do you think they would mind if I called. My guest book is beckoning me across the world. I have heard about it. Perhaps Clotho knows. Are you still with me? And will you stay? Can you help?
I would also like to take the “us4sisters” to New York city to meet Mr. Donald Trump down town Manhattan City and see the lights, all that electricity in one place. I can not image all that electricity. Our population here is 2, with 3000 watts and there are no noises at night here, and no lights. Is there more I need to know about?
One of us has been there for a quick look, now we all must go together. Strange little group us 4 sisters, but we are us, light bulb or none. All different but all the same and a tear means the same thing. We are us. Together. Strange little group. We are the good guys, and even a Presbyterian Sunday school piano player in the midst. How cool is that?
One of my favorite Christmas photos, and it really is in black and white! The olden days, I guess they call it. And probably the last Christmas spent in Grande Prairie Alberta. Forty below fits in here some how. But who could refuse the Shuswap, the arts, crafts, friends, lake and lifestyle. It tells us all.
Write in the Shuswap!
But the dinosaurs bones still have their draw, their name sake finds his refuge here. Any bird, animal and the flow of the keyboard and smooth ivories are unstoppable and the whirl, for the little studio is just down the road….. I can feel it, the paint, the brush, magistra. She is really good, so is Nancy. And John too!
The stories to be told, and listened to. The “coming soon” and the patience and strength to get through it all. Inspiration and creativity need to replace, the blame and fault. There should be none. And the cries for Lochinvar are even louder.
If not for the seismic fault, the keys would be silent and there is more to be said, hopefully it will show that you, are part of this Earl, and your contribution is part of it all. You are needed. Be a good leader. Teach them well and have them remember. Teach the children Earl. Teach them how to dance so we can all remember. We need you. We need you all.
And yes of course, little Smudgy and her very own Christmas List!
Time to go shovel some snow and pick out a tree.
Merry Christmas to Everyone!!!!
P.S. Fabulous slippers Phyllis!

Carol just put us on to your blog site, it looks great. Somehow I think that your winter is calmer and quieter than ours.
Ah, an admirer of yours and I have found out how to comment at last. Blogs are new to me. And I see that the gone south photo is back, and how appropriate it is.
Yikes, both snow and cold – an interesting end to winter. Well, this is the Shuswap, could be +5 tomorrow eh?
Love your stuff….. keep it coming.
