Today we have about ten inches of fresh white sparkly snow. Earlier this morning a cow moose and her young calf crossed through the garden, making their way to the marsh for an early morning visit.
Leaving foot prints along the shoreline trail, they’ve also drawn the curiosity of the local coyote pack. Their little pups have been getting pretty good practice lately learning the “yippen and howlin” stuff, full heartily. Just like the little kids playing in the purple playground.
The bird feeder is now full and there is a lot of anticipation on whom will show up first. The Black-capped Chickadees are always a good guess. They are so trusting to land on my finger and take a seed, then off they go. Great outdoor entertainment for visiting children!
Everybody is out and about today including me, Smudgy and a few old friends. Hello Mavis!

My next outing will have to be on snow shoes. Two Ruffed Grouse have taken up winter residence here, so they will be fluttering around the front yard. And I know the squirrel is up to something too!
